Plot

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, associative arguments ] plots a graph containing a function or functions in a domain.

Usages

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, options ]

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, options ] plots the functions in listfunc in the domain xmin to xmax. The x- and y-axes of this graph are labelled textx and texty, respectively.

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Ticks=>False ] plots the graph without any marks or labels on the x- and y-axis.

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Grid=> 'value' ]

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Grid=> 'value' ] plots the graph with or without a background grid. Supported values are Grid=>'None' and Grid=>'Both'.

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Size => percentage ] plots the graph, with regular marks and labelling and zooms the rendered graph to a size (percentage) using CSS style="width:...%".

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Points => listpoints ] plots the graph, with regular marks and labelling and renders a list of points. A point is a list of length two containing the x and y coordinates in order.

Options

Points

Points plots the graph, with regular marks and labelling and renders a list of points. A point is a list of length two containing the x and y coordinates in order.

Syntax Example
Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Points => listpoints ] Plot[ {x^2}, {-10, 10}, {x,y}, Points => { {-2,4},{2,4} } ]

Grid

Grid plots the graph with or without a background grid. Supported values are Grid=>'None' and Grid=>'Both'.

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Grid=> 'value' ] Plot[ {x^2+3x ,-3x^2-3x+50}, {-10, 10}, {x,y}, Grid=>'Both' ]

Ticks

Ticks plots the graph without any marks or labels on the x- and y-axis.

Syntax Example

Size

Size plots the graph, with regular marks and labelling and zooms the rendered graph to a size (percentage) using CSS style="width:...%".

Plot[ listfunc, { xmin, xmax}, { textx, texty }, Size => percentage ] Plot[ {x^2+3x ,-3x^2-3x+50}, {-10, 10}, {x,y}, Size => 50 ]

Range

Range plots the graph, with regular marks and labelling within a range (vertical axis). The plot is rendered in a 1:1 ratio, so the minimum and maximum of the horizontal and vertical axes are the same.
