ImplicitList

ImplicitList

ImplicitList[ expr1, expr2, ... ] displays expressions as a comma-separated list, without curly braces.

Usages

ImplicitList[ expr1, expr2, ... ]

ImplicitList[ expr1, expr2, ... ] is displayed as expr1, expr2, .... A normal list { expr1, expr2, ... } is displayed with curly braces.

Example in rendered
Two equations, separated by a comma. ImplicitList[ x=1, y=2 ] x=1,y=2x=1, y=2
The same equations in a normal list. { x=1, y=2 } {x=1,y=2}\left\{ x=1, y=2 \right\}
A single expression is displayed as the expression itself. ImplicitList[ x+1 ] x+1x+1
Without arguments, the empty set symbol is displayed. ImplicitList[] ∅\emptyset
Details
  • ImplicitList only affects how the expressions are displayed. It does not calculate anything: in a script, ImplicitList[ x=1, y=2 ] stays ImplicitList[ x=1, y=2 ].
  • ImplicitList is not a list, so list commands do not work on it. For example, Length[ ImplicitList[1,2] ] is left unevaluated. Do your calculations with a normal list, and use ImplicitList only for the final result.
