CalcArcTan
CalcArcTan
CalcArcTan[ x ] calculates the inverse tangent of a number as an angle, in radians or degrees.
Usages
CalcArcTan[ x ]
CalcArcTan[ x ] calculates the inverse tangent of x as a decimal number of radians. x must be a decimal number with a fractional part, such as 0.5 (see the warning below).

CalcArcTan[ x, Variant=>'deg' ]
With the option Variant=>'deg', the angle is given in degrees.

CalcArcTan[ x ]with a variablexis left unevaluated.
Warning
CalcArcTan only calculates decimal numbers with a fractional part. CalcArcTan[ 1 ] and CalcArcTan[ 1.0 ] (which counts as the whole number 1) are left unevaluated, also with Variant=>'deg'. Use Numerical to calculate them: Numerical[ CalcArcTan[1] ].
